Tianna was created by the Atrox and thus was born without a soul, but Selene kidnapped her when she was a baby and gave her to a Daughter. Enraged and somehow knowing Serena was behind it, she confronts Serena. Overall it is okay.

Morgan is introduced in “Goddess of the Night” as a wealthy, narrow-minded, and snobbish socialite friend of Vanessa’s. It is later revealed that he is a servusa slave in Nefandus.Sons of the Dark is a companion series. In Book Two, Serena, a moon goddess who has the gift of daughterrs minds, is torn between joining the dark force of the evil Atrox and staying with her friends. Daughters of the Moon, Volume 1Maggie, the Daughters’ mentor, explains that Jimena’s premonition was not of her death, but of the end of her time as a Daughter. Stanton is constantly worried because being with Serena can get them both killed by daughtres Regulators. Yet when Lambert, a follower, came to bring her to the underworld, he fell desperately in love with her, and she with him.And i didn’t really liked the pattern te books follow: Anyone know where I could find myself a copy of “The Secret Scroll”? There are something they go through that should not be happening, but xaughters I guess it the typical for this genre.

Later, it is revealed that Catty’s birth name is Atertra Adamantis, which means “black diamond”.Their relationship last until The Becoming. She has two sisters. Most of the emphasis was on their bodies.

I felt it was tainting my bookshelf! I grabbed it because of the mythos attached to it, thinking it would embrace natural femininity. I was so so wrong. I can't believe anyone would allow their teenagers to read this! Most of the emphasis was on their bodies. Not like I am completely against that (every girl has to feel sexy every once in a while) but these were teens here.

When they were dressing for 'battle' it involved about 15 lbs of glitter, tons of makeup, getting their hair juuuuust right and slipping into some sleazy costume. To me, when I think of a powerful woman, I don't think about her damn aesthetics. I don't picture a powerful woman slathering on the makeup and hair gel and glittery body paint and four inch high heels (very impractical for fighting in if you ask me).The book seemed to feed into the female stigma and stereotype (Uh the club dancing scene anyone?) rather than intelligently back-handing it and really emphasizing the real reasons women are strong. I was so ashamed of this book when I read it. It just added to the media circus on how women should look and portray themselves. If that was the point, to embrace femininity, and use it as a weapon she did an awful job.

Boobs are not a weapon girls and if you think that way I am very sorry for you. Some scenes in the book were alright and concentrated on the mythos and the plot but a lot of it was filler and crappy filler at that. No self-respecting woman would 'battle' like they did in the book. But that is just my opinion and if you liked it then I can be glad that you enjoyed a book. Luckily, I am an honest person and would never do such a thing. Most of this reveiw looks like a story explaining how I could of tricked you into reading a terrible book but then explaining this book ISN'T terrible. How strange.Well, insead of writing blah blah blah like I just did, I am going to get on with my reveiw. This book is about 4 girls who each have a moon necklace thingy and meet each other and become friends.

Wait, I left out the most important part, they each have a magical power. They talk to this freaky hippy like lady and she tells them the are the 'daughters of the moon' and the have to fight danger. SO the three books that are contained in this one book are aboout fighting danger and trying to have a normal life.My reveiw is written. And no, I am NOT trying to trick you into reading a terrible book. Would I have rated this 5 stars just to trick you? I think not.Ok I am dropping the subject now and am leaving.OK OK, I am leaving now.Are you rushing me?

Also, I just wished that these girls were a lot older because of some of the content that happens and these girls at the beginning of this series are 15 years old. And last thing of course that happens especially in YA are where are the freaking parents?!?!

I started reading this series when I was a young teenager. The stories were always captivating. The writing, on the other hand, wasn't exactly the best out there in YA today, but I have a feeling that perhaps it was because the target age was aiming for kids even younger than myself when I was a teen (9-14 y/o). There was excessive purple prose, it was unpoetically written, and there were constant descriptions of the clothes every single character was wearing. Ewing has commented before on the descriptions and said that the clothes were a way of showing girl power, particularly when they were 'goddessing' themselves for a battle. Reading them now in comparison to reading them a decade ago is a completely different experience, but there's just something about these books that are so much fun. The characters and their motives were all believable, the dialogue was realistic, and I absolutely loved the incorporation of the ancient goddesses in the novels.

Plus, Stanton is kind of my fantasy guy. I'd absolutely recommend these books to young teens and even to the older folks if you can get past the plain writing and excessive descriptions. Not really sure how to review this one.

This is one series that I'm not excited about getting to the next book. I'll leave those for someone else! Reading books published around 2000 is always a trip. My feelings about this are probably similar to those of someone who picks up the Sisterhood books for the first time: I like the friendship and power and strength and flaws in here, but there are certain things that I wouldn't accept from a series that was published today.

There are four girls who are considered goddesses/daughters of the moon, and three of them got a story in this and the fourth one did not, nor was she described very often, so I'm interested in seeing if she ended up with her own book after these three books were published.Quick summary: four teenage girls in LA find out they're goddesses (aka daughters of the moon) and they each have a power/supernatural ability and have to fight the forces of evil. They're all straight but some of their friendships felt very queer to me.Also:1.

Borders was mentioned and I almost cried because I miss Borders, especially the giant one that was at Sunset and Vine2. I didn't know the Bev Center's parkinglot is aboveground to prevent methane seepage and that the mall curled around a working oil rig. I love learning about LA. I feel like I would have enjoyed this series as a teenager or preteen because it reminds me of Charmed–a 1990s television series I was obsessed with.

It doesn't engage me with its repetitive short-sentence prose of the various battles or main events that occur in the narrative. I'm not really connecting to any of the situations or characters because they are brilliantly and artistically created; rather, I'm just turning pages because I just have to know how the girls save the day. One of my guilty pleasures is young adult fiction and fantasy, but the author really needs to put more effort into creating a picture with words that we can literally close our eyes and imagine. He or she also should write a cast of well-rounded characters that show development throughout the series.

I'll probably keep reading when I am looking for a quick read on a rainy day or I just don't have anything more interesting to read. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. I liked Catty, Serena, Jimena, the plot, and the writing though, so I kept reading. I'm glad I did. But, Vanessa herself may be a big part of why I knocked a star of my rating for this book.Into The Cold Fire: I liked this book better than the previous one.

I relate most to Serena, I think, so it was easy for me to put myself in her shoes. (Plus, I would love to dye my hair crayola red). This book was the most creepy of the three, because the bit with the Atrox erasing any memory Serena had that would interfere with their plan was just creepy cool.

Although I hated Stanton in the first book, I really liked him in this one. I genuinely believe he loves Serena, and that she'll get him to turn against the Atrox eventually.Night Shade: Although I relate to Serena most, this book was my favorite. The concept of Jimena's former boyfriend (the supposed love of her life) coming back from the dead was brilliant, Tarterus under the park was cool, and Cassandra was just plain scary. My main problem, now, is that I'm torn. I love Veto and Collin. But, I might just love Collin more. The interactions between Jimena and Collin were my favorite part of the book (possibly the whole volume).Overall: I apologize for the fairly unhelpful review, I guess I'm not in a very helpful state at the moment.

But, this volume is definitely a good read. It's fast, and a fairly easy read, but full of action and very interesting. The 800+ pages go by really fast, and I found myself reading in every spare moment of time I had. If you like paranormal YA, old legends, and some romance-y sub-plots, than I definitely recommend this one. It won't take you long, and it's a really good read. My only problem now is getting my hands on the next book.

Anyone know where I could find myself a copy of 'The Secret Scroll'? I had a couple of issues with these stories:-The ages of the heroines vs. Their actions don't match up. I kept thinking the girls were 17 or 19, which would have made what they were doing (not the paranormal stuff, but the 'regular' stuff like traipsing about LA) more believable.-Cut and paste was used often to describe characters or details from previous stories. If (young) women want to rub up against each other because.they. find it enjoyable, that is one thing.

The author depicts the main female characters as using this ploy solely for the purpose of attracting guys. In general, I feel like the characters are over sexualized (yet there is no more than kissing) and with no thought process other than it makes them feel special because guys dig it. Maybe this is what 15 year old girls think and/or how they act, but it doesn't seem right in the context of the novel.Sadly, this is one of those story lines where I'm interested enough in the concept to want to see how it plays out but not terribly interested in the characters or the actual novels. I think a reviewer who was very interested in analyzing the text would have a lot more to say about how wrong some of the themes are for this age group, etc. I just don't feel like bothering. Meh all around. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers.

They have to fight the ancient evil called the Atrox that wants to destroy the goddesses.

Can the four of them fight it even when they're love's in the game?Great volume one of this fantasy series. Each character is unique and every decision the girls make are like I thought that girl would make. These books get 3 stars because of the myths behind them. I've always been a sucker for the gods/goddesses. But as I read these book(s) it's just seems so cliche and predictable. Normally I'm all for that; however, lately I have read nothing but YA novels and I'm starting to get bored. I don't like the different points of views either.

It does remind me a lot of the anime Sailor Moon. I take pride in rereading books but this will not be a book I visit again for years if not decades too come. If you are bored and really have nothing better to do then I recommend this book. Other than that I'm glad this book was on clearance or I would have been rather disappointed. I picked up this omnibus on a whim. I'd read the back of the book and thought it sounded interesting, and it's always a good idea to read more than one book in a series to determine if it's right for me. The first book in this volume quickly convinced me that it is right for me. I love the inclusion of romance in each story, and the characters are nicely complex.

What I love the most however, is the nods to classical mythology and how they end up playing out in each story. I love the direction t I picked up this omnibus on a whim. This is a different twist on fiction books. Most people would automatically assume that this is a vampire book because those are popular, but it isn't. This book series is about daughters of the moon goddess and the dangers they must face because of it. As you can see the first three books are together.

Each focuses on the girls, but each has one main one tofocus on each book. It is amazing to see their different life styles. Thismore of a book for girl, but guys don't let that st Wow.just wow.
