An example of an EQ2 Bots is a hunter bot which will hunt for you and earn experience with ease. Another example of an EQ2 bot is a harvester which will go and harvest a node for you. Once properly setup, EverHarvest represents a hands-free method of harvesting for materials in the game.Setting Up EverHarvestOnce you download and install EverHarvest, you'll need to set it up before you can use it. EverHarvest does a lot of the setup for you by reading vital information from EQ2, but there are still a few things you need to set yourself.The first thing you see when you load up EverHarvest is the Run tab, shown here.Before you're able to start running EverHarvest, you need to tell it where to harvest, and what to harvest. Go to the Pathing Management tab now.This is the Pathing Management tab, where you create, manage, and select a Walkpath for your character to run while it looks for nodes to harvest. A Walkpath is a set of waypoints that your character will attempt to walk to.

At first, your path list will be empty. Before you start creating a new walkpath, you'll need to be fully logged in game, and in the zone you want to create your walkpath in.Good - now that you're there, click on the 'New Path' button at the bottom-right of the screen.This window will appear, while the rest of the program will be minimized.

This window will allow you to record a walkpath. Once your character is positioned at the start of where you want your walkpath to be, click the Record button, then go back to EQ2 and walk your character around. You'll see the 'Num Waypoints' label increase as you walk, showing you that the path your character is walking is being saved.When you're done walking a path, click the 'Stop' button. Give it a descriptive name (something descriptive of where the path was recorded), then click 'OK' to save the path.The main EverHarvest window will return, with the Pathing Management tab active, and you'll see that in the Walkpaths list your path is listed underneath the zone it was recorded in.

To select it, click it.Now, once you've run EverHarvest in many zones, you may end up having to scroll a bit to find the walkpath you're looking for. This is why we added the 'Filter by Current Zone' checkbox in the top-right corner - click that to have the Pathing Management walkpath list only include walkpaths that were recorded in the zone you're currently in.Now that we've created and selected a walkpath, let's select the nodes we want to harvest from. Click on the 'Node Selection' tab.This tab allows you to select which nodes you want to harvest from. The nodes are organized by the zone they're found in. As in Pathing Management, you can filter this list by the current zone you're in which, given the length of this list, is a feature you're very likely going to want to use. Go ahead and click that, then when the list is finished sorting itself, select which nodes you want to harvest by clicking the checkbox next to their names.When you're done there, go to the Run tab.Here we are, back where it all began.

=) There are a few options here that need to be set before you can begin.Run Cycles is the number of times you want EverHarvest to walk your walkpath before quitting.Avoid Players while Harvesting is a setting that instructs EverHarvest not to harvest from nodes that another player is very close to. You'll probably want to keep this on, unless there's a.very. good reason not to, as it's considered very rude to harvest from a node another player is harvesting from, and can also be suspicious to players on the lookout for bots.Walkpath Cycle Mode is a setting that determines whether to treat your walkpath as circular (that is, ending very very close to where it began) or linear (that is, ending far away from where you began).

Circular walkpaths are walked from start to finish, then restarted from start to finish on the next run, etc. Linear walkpaths are a bit different - once the end of the path is reached, EverHarvest will walk your walkpath the other direction - back from the end toward the start.Start Path from Closest Waypoint is a timesaving setting, allowing EverHarvest to start a walkpath from wherever the closest point on the path is, rather than forcing you to run to where the start of the path is before starting it.Notify when tells are recieved is a safety setting, which causes EverHarvest to play a sound whenever your character is sent a tell.

That way, in case you're within earshot of the computer, you'll know if someone's trying to contact you (a common way to find out whether a person harvesting is a bot or not is sending them a tell and seeing if they respond).Harvest Key allows you to select the Hotkey key you want to harvest with.Now, before you can run your first EverHarvest job, there's one thing left to setup. Minimize EverHarvest, and go into EQ2 and bring up the Socials window.

This is by default accessed by pressing the 'o' key. Click on the Macros tab. Click on the text that says ' ' and it'll open up an Edit Macro window.Set that macro name to 'Harvest', then next to Macro Step set the box to 'Spell / Ability', then click 'Add Step' 6 times. Now, open up your knowledges book (the default key is 'k'), find the 6 Harvesting abilities (Fishing, Trapping, Mining, Foresting, Collecting, and Gathering) and drag them into the six boxes in the Edit Macro window.

When you're done, it should look like this:Hit OK to save the macro.Now, drag the Harvest macro from your Macros social and into your primary hotkey bar, wherever you have it set to in the Run tab of EverHarvest. This will cause EverHarvest to execute each of the harvesting abilities when it encounters a node. This may seem like overkill, but it's really more efficient this way - otherwise, you'd need to use 6 hotkeys instead of just 1!While you're here in EQ2, you might want to make sure your log file is turned on by typing /log. The log file isn't mission critical, but it is necessary for the list of Found Items to function, as well as Tell Notification.There's one final option to set, in the Post-Job Options tab.In this tab, you set what you want EverHarvest to do once your harvest job is complete. Pretty self-explanatory, really - it can do nothing at all (just sit there), set your character to AFK, camp to desktop, or shut down your computer. More options will be coming in a future update.So now, you're finished! Go back to the Run tab, then click the 'Run' button and you'll be off!

=)Now - there are a couple Tweaks options you can set, if you need to.If you installed EverQuest 2 to a location other than c:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II then you'll need to change the EQ2 Base Path to reflect the place where you installed it.' Ms between targetting attempts' is the setting that sets how long EverHarvest will wait in between trying to target nodes. If you notice that EverHarvest is trying to harvest from things that aren't harvest nodes (like monsters, etc.) then increase this value by 50 until the problem goes away.
